What camera is right for me?
I'm looking to get a nice camera but don't know where to start. I don't know much about photography but seems like a great hobby to be into. I'm looking for something that is beginner friendly but something that I won't have to replace with a better camera after learning the basics. I don't know if they are made but I also would want to be able to take videos in 210 fps. I know Casio makes the EX-FH 20 but I have been told to steer clear of that brand because it is not very high equality.

    Thanks.

About $400 is my budget for now. If there is something that I really like and it is over my budget I would save up more cash and buy it later.

Casio makes decent stuff, still, I might reccomend something more along the lines of Canons SX20IS, or Sonys H50 or HX1]. That is, of course, assuming you are wanting the mega huge zoom range offered in those (like is in the Casio you mentioned).

Is the high speed shooting important to you? If so then the casios are good value for money. But if you looking to learn photography (stills, not video), I would suggest the Canon G12 or Panasonic LX5. Both have a generous amount of flexibility. Only difference is that the G12 is much bulkier and has more physical buttons/dials for settings adjustments while the LX5 has them within menus.

Btw if you're into video, I'd also suggest looking into the the FZ100. It records 1080i HD videos at 30fps, 720p at 60fps, and 320x240 at 240fps for your slowmo needs.
