What camera is right for me?
Its time to upgrade my digital camera. Right now I have a Fuji A330 digital camera, its starting to show its age. I would like to get a new digital camera in the $200 range. Of course I want it to take great pictures, but I also would like for it to take great pictures when the lighting conditions arent great. The biggest complaint I have about that camera I have now is the way the pictures turn out when the lighting isnt the greatest. I occasionaly sell items on ebay, so good up close pictures under artificial light is a must. Pictures will mostly be used for emailing and 4x6 pictures.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Not sure you will get one for $200. In that price range you are still looking at something like you already have.
The only other thing you could possibly go for is a second hand dslr such as a Canon 350D, (still not sure you would manage to get one for $200), and even then, in low light shooting conditions, you would need a lens with a high aperture such as the 50mm f/1.8 MKII lens.
Maybe the best thing for you to do would be to set up some fabric outside and shoot your products there. I've done that before.
I've even used a desk lamp for my lighting with a black sweatshirt for my background.
Hope this helps.
Re: What camera is right for me?
Can you tell us a bit more about the type of photography that you may want to get into.
Most of the compact cameras could be adequate for what you described for taking photos for ebay. Are there other aspects of photography your interested, e.g. landscapes, protraits, large prints...

The only other aspect of photography I would be doing with it is taking pictures at family get togethers. Could I get anything in the $250 range?

There are a few Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Panasonix to choose from. I don't know much about them so wait for some of the others to chip for advice on these.
