From video to still . . .a little help.
I have been a videographer for about 7 years... I have been into photography as a hobby for about 5. I have never used a digital camera before. I am familiar with 35mm SLR film cameras, I have owned everything from a rebel to a EOS-3.
Now I am about to take the leap into digital... I really have no clue how they work, but I am looking for something that I can mount a lens, filter, etc. on... I shoot mainly still pics without a lot of motion at all. I need good color in any light condition.
I was looking at the G6... but I have no clue if that can do what I want. Just looking for some advice. . .

I think that a DSLR is probably what you are looking for. I think the G6 can have lens attachments (magnifier and macro, but I might be wrong) mounted to it, but you're still going to be working with the lens built into the camera. DSLRs also do better in low light because they can work at higher ISOs with less noise. If you already own some Canon lenses, the Digital Rebel (or it's possible replacement) or the EOS 20D would be your best bet. If you don't have a lot invested in lenses, you should also look at the Nikon D70. But a lot of this will be dictated by your budget as well.
