usb sd card reader for tv

    Hi Guys,
This is my first posting on this forum from OZ. I just bought a dsc-s2000 and you cannot put your photos on the the tv to view. as with the camera i had stolen the dscs650 . Can someone tell me can you put a usb sd card reader on to the set top box and put your card into that and view your pictures on the tv.

The usual way to view your photos on TV is with cables from your camera to the TV - either RCA style video cables or HDMI. What brand of camera do you have? I assumed it was a Sony but we don't have a Sony S2000 listed on the site. Does your camera have an HDMI or A/V connector? That's your best bet.

To connect a card reader you'd have to have a TV with a USB connection and that is able to read the card. Reading the card is going to be the hard part. I don't expect that most TVs have the software to do that. However, Sony, Samsung and Panasonic are all making HD TV sets with built-in card readers now. I don't think you can just plug a card reader into any old TV, though.

Another option is to use DVD software to make a DVD or CD slideshow that can be played on a DVD player. If you don't have the cables, that's probably your best bet.

There are gagets that connect to the tv for viewing from video cards. I've seen them. Some tvs also have built in card readers.

I found the Sony S2000 on their website, it has a multifunction socket, but it doesn't support HD output.

You're right, Don. I forgot about those. I remember Sony made one a few years ago and I know there are third-party devices, too. I think maybe Delkin makes something. Thanks!

usb sd card reader for tv

    Hi all.

You helped me out and told me earlier that its best not to view/store my pics on the SD card. So, the following question I have is what you all recommend I use for permanent storage of my pics and for viewing them on? Is a CD or DVD OK?

    Thanks for the help.
