    Upgrading from Olympus Stylus 400
Question, is it worth upgrading from a 3 year old Olympus Stylus 400 that takes decent pics, to another P&S model? Maybe a 6-7pix camera? Part of me wants an SLR, but I would be carrying this camera alot for mountain biking and hiking so I need it small and easily portable. I am itching for something newer, better quality. Just wondering if going with another P&S is worth it?

If so, what's the best P&S out there in your opinion for 4-6hundred dollars? Any pics(non photo-shopped) to go with the opinions?

    Thanks!

Re: Upgrading from Olympus Stylus 400
i have the canon s1 is but i would recomend the s3 is. it is small enough to fit in bags or even a large pocket, ( i carry mine hiking and backpacking all the time) it has all manual controls ( and good presets), has a decent zoom, and is in your price range and pixel range. and i've dropped mine a few times and it still works (just a dent here or there).

however i haven't owned any other p&s cameras so i can't say its better or not than any other.
