is there a site to cull by features?
I've had several digicams, so know what features I want (ok, my wife wants), but can't find a place to narrow the choices by my (ok, her) criteria. Ads, and sometimes even the manufacturer's sites often don't list this stuff either, so it's really a chore.

    The 'needs' are:
    - compact (has to fit easily in her purse)
    - runs on (rechargeable) AA batteries (she takes tons of pics at a time)
    - 640x480 movie mode WITH sound (don't want to drag the camcorder around anymore)
    - minimum shutter lag (fewer missed/blurry shots)
    - 15+ foot flash (she's always taking shots of her scouts)
    - good pic quality (obvious, but from what I read many don't have it)

A site that culls by these criteria, or personal suggestions of cameras that meet these, would be greatly appreciated.

dpreview.com has a features search in their buying guide. Its one of the drop downs on left.

Thanks. I guess that's a start, but they don't list battery type, if it records sound, or shutter lag times, so still would leave a lot of research to be done.

There is no advantage to using AA bateries and few cameras do anymore. IMHO, lithium and lithium ion are superiors anyway.

All the major camera brands record sound, it would be very strange if one didn't. That's why its not considered an importanat parameter.

Shutter lag does vary. Choose the cameras you like and then look at the timings page of the review for shutter lag numbers.
