    Sony H50 Superzoom Unboxing Video
My latest digital camera unboxing video is complete - the Sony Cybershot DSC-H50. It's a 9.1-megapixel compact superzoom digicam with a 15x optical zoom and an articulated LCD screen. This is my third video. I think I'm improving them a bit every time. But I'm interested in feedback - keeping in mind that I'm shooting this with a point-and-shoot digital camera. So recommending better sound probably isn't going to help. It is what it is :)

If anyone here wants to share their own photography-related videos, we have our own video player. It's got much better quality than YouTube and you get to keep your stuff here on PhotographyREVIEW.com. Here's a link to the video page:

I think you've got the exposure sorted.

Heh heh. The gray shirt did the trick? My SD950 IS doesn't have any exposure compensation in the video mode. And my free Windows Movie Maker software doesn't have any exposure adjustment tools. So there's not much I can do but cut back on all the white in the shot.

Doing these videos is making me more interested in the Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 5D Mark II. They may not be serious video tools (the D90 isn't, anyway), but they can certainly do this stuff better than the point-and-shoot. If I do more and more of these - and I think I will - then the time will probably come that I buy a dedicated video camera. Or whatever APS-C DSLR Canon comes out with that has video. I figure next year they'll have one. Maybe even at PMA...

Or maybe you can get a RED Scarlet for the video ... mind you the post-processing is rather CPU intensive.
Can you imagine a 6 megapixel image being rendered from RAW for each frame of the video?

Is that how it works? Did you see my Red DSMC article? Maybe you could comment on it. I confess, I am just barely beginning to sort that system out.

    It promises a lot.
