Sigma DP1 - Available yet? Any info?
I've found plenty of info and blogs regarding the new camera, but all of them suggest a release date from Feb-07 to Apr-07. Yet I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Has it been delayed? Who's usually the first to stock new cameras like this when they first come out?

I have been bugging Sigma about it. I named it one of my highlights from this year's PMA show. I'm really excited about it. That said, I'm not sure if it will make a good bike camera. I played with it a little at the show and it seemed a bit on the slow side as far as shutter-lag goes. The final version might be better, though. It's not the burliest compact camera I've ever had my hands on, either. But if the image quality is there, maybe none of that will matter. No one else has stepped up yet and made a compact digital that can even come close to matching DSLR image quality.

Yeah, I've been google-ing all over for info. A LOT of antsy people out there.

I was just about set on a G7 but then I remembered all the talk about the Foveon sensor a few years ago and decided to read up on the latest, which is how I learned out it.

Like you said, definitely has its limitations, but if the image quality is there...
Also, from the pictures I've seen it looks to be much more compact than first imagined.

If it gets delayed another year or so, or if the price is too high, I may still go with the G7, but I STILL can't find a local retailer that stocks it, or someone who owns one that will let me borrow it.

I just sold my EF 24-85mm for my D30. I'm thinking maybe I'll get a used 50mm 1.8 to hold me over while I wait this out.
