which shutter speed is faster?

im looking at the stylus 710 and the fe 230 by olympus but i cant understand these numbers. which is faster? Auto (1/2000 sec. – 4 sec.) (fe230) or 1/1000 sec. – 1/2 sec. (up to 4 sec. in Night Scene Mode) [stylus 710]

the bigger the number after 1/ then the faster the shutter speed
