    should i get ...
    ...the a640 if i want to use it for general photos , none blurred action shots eg basketball, and the video , im a graphic design student and want to get into more photgraphy in the future

    you probably won't be able to take good basketball shots with an a640, but for general stuff...if you want a point and shoot, it's a decent camera. there are better ones out there though, that record better video and have a longer zoom and less shutter lag. the equipment forums are the right place to visit!
