    A Social Camera

    Hi all
I love love my Rebel XTi but I'm 18 and it really isnt a camera I can stuff in a purse and take snapshots at parties.

I feel like I'm cheating on my Rebel but I think I need a digital point and shoot for my social life rather than making art.

So this is where I need you all. I'm thinking cheep: 150 or less (c'mon guys I'm a poor college kid). Pretty much just 4x6 and posting online. Small, small, small. I'm talking pocket size.

And has anyone had good/bad experiences buying used cameras off ebay? It cuts the price a lot but I'm a little worried about broken/misleading cameras.
    Thank you!

There are plenty of current cameras that can be had for under $200. Take a look at what's available now from Canon, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony, etc. I think a new $150 camera is going to be better than most of what you'd be able to buy used. Cameras introduced in 2007 were incredible compared to what was available before. There was a noticeable leap in image quality last year - especially for higher sensitivity shooting. If you do want a used camera, look for one with mechanical image stabilization. That is an invaluable feature that absolutely equals more usable photos.

    Wow. Take your pick.

They're all pretty good. I'm very biased, but most of the Canons are pretty nice. I must say, though, that my mother-in-law's pink Sony takes some pretty good images.

The Canon point and shoots are great cameras for the money.
