Setting Image Size On Sony DSC-H20
Just shot a bunch of pics on Xmas and most were sized correctly (640x480) for e-mail attachments, but some were shot at a higher res for some reason (very large). The manual is very straightforward in it's instructions RE setting. 1. Press MENU button 2. Select 4:3
10M
(Image Size) with up down left right arrows on the control button> scroll down to desired size (4:3 VGA)>Click button in center of control button to select
I know I've seen this setting before but cannot find it on the menu. There should be a whole list of different settings 4:3 (3648X2736)
10M
4:3 (A4) 4:3 (L/2L) 4:3 (e-mail).
5M 3M VGA
I must be doing something wrong. Anybody here with a Sony cybershot H20 who can help? Thanks.
Fred
Re: Setting Image Size On Sony DSC-H20
I'm not sure where the setting is on the camera. I would expect it to be under the main menu under Image Size, Resolution or Quality. Quality may just be a compression setting, though.
However, I am questioning your image size decision here. I understand you want to e-mail the photos. I have no problem with that. But you bought a 10-megapixel camera. Why do that and then sacrifice all that resolution? I think it's best to always shoot at the highest resolution and then resize later, if you need to. That way you won't end up with a wonderful picture of the kids (or whatever) that's only good for viewing on the computer. What if you get a masterpiece and want to make a print? You won't be able to do that if you're shooting at e-mail resolution.
Definitely find the size settings in the menu so that you know where they are. But I would really like you to leave the resolution at the largest setting so that you don't miss out on any print-worthy photos. Memory cards and hard drive space are much, much cheaper than a photo that you can't use because it's too small :)
