Unhappy I think I broke my camera :(

I don't know what happened to my camera, but all the pictures turn out black, and when I upload them they are black, and the screen on the black only shows black. A few days before that started happening, my son pulled it down off of the desk, but I checked it immediately and the pictures I had on it were fine, and they uploaded fine. After I deleted those pictures and tried to take new pictures all I got was black. Is is probable that the lens or something is busted? Would that mean buying a whole new camera? Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you taken the lens cap off?

Seriously thought, maybe something got loose inside the camera so that the sensor is now pointing away from the lens and is capturing the inside of the camera. Sorry I can't be more technical, as I'm just guessing.

Of course the pictures you already took are fine, that's no way to test if a camera still works. You should have taken pictures immediately to see if it still took them, not just stored them. Sounds like it's toast.

Yeah, I know. I realized that last night, after I read over my post.
