    Problem with Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5
I purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 for a friend ( who is overseas and far from tech support  ). It seems that when the camera is turned on, the zoom functions continuously, moving the lens in and out. This movement of the lens will only cease when the camera is powered down.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue (in this camera or in others)?

Aside from this, the first issue, the camera take fantastic pictures in all sorts of conditions.

    Thanks in advance.

There is no one here who can fix this problem from afar. Take it to a camera repair shop or send it to Panasonic for a repair estimate. Contrary to popular belief, there are times when the repairs actually are cheap!

Thanks for your response. Getting it to the dealer is actually the crux of the matter in this case! The user is quite remote. (Hence my inquiry; if there's a known-issue and known-fix, that'd save a lot of legwork and expensive shipping.)

    Cheers,
