It's a tape loosening problem. Gently press on one of the tape gear to block it then make the second one roll with a finger to tighten the strip.
BTW maybe you can help me back, i can't get my hands on the manual. What does the red "fire like" blinking icon means ? The cam then just shut down after something like 10-20 seconds...
Re: Panasonic NV-DS60 problem - Possible solution
I know that is a very late replay, maybe someone else encounter the proble like I do
(after powering on, the camcorder power LED start to blink two times every 3 sec.)
I have a deja-vu of the "Memory Card Error" problem of my Canon S400: remove some screws, take the cover apart, do some silly thing and voila everything is working again.
It's seems that is a internal connectors problem so the camcorder will switch to "Safe mode".
So, remove the main battery and the backup battery, take the bottom cover off by removing four screws of the bottom, one on the side of the LCD screen and two of the side opposite to the LCD (the bottom screw near the "battery release" may remain in his place). Once the cover off, press gently the golden cable ribbons in the plugs (a droplet of contact oil may be very helpful also ). Reassemble and enjoy :-).

Re: Pansonic NV-DS60 problem
Thank you Jonathan Rosenberg for the wonderful suggestion to press on the contacts. It cleared my condensation flasher and allowed the panasonic to resume working. :)
Now, however when I play recorded DV tapes I get bars of mosaic and bars of clear images interlaced on all tapes, and when I play the tapes directly to my ULead video editing software Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and what I can do about it? :mad2:
Thank you for any help anyone can offer.
Best regards
