Bait and switch or will I receive my order?

I ordered a refurb Canon 40D with 28-135 IS USM for $799 last night from Adorama. I've seen the body alone sell for this much on Ebay and the best price I could find for that lens was well over $300. I usually don't jump on these deals that seem too good to be true, but I did buy a camera from Adorama over 10 years ago when the internet was very new, I got a great deal and had no problems getting the camera I ordered for the price advertised, even though it sounded too good to be true.

I've seen spotty reports that Adorama does occasionally advertise deals like this then they run the bait and switch scam. I won't get an order confirmation until Monday or Tuesday so I'm not sure what will happen. Can anybody confirm this price is legitimate, I'll sleep better this weekend if someone can post up something positive about Adorama honoring their advertised prices.

Adorama has a great reputation, and I would be REALLY surprised if you don't get exactly what you ordered.

I guess a better question is does Adorama advertise items that are backordered or out of stock? I couldn't find any stocking information on the website... I'm half expecting an email saying that the item I ordered is out of stock.

There are many camera companies on the web that advertise great prices, but when you try to order it, either out of stock, or unavailable for some other reason. That's when they hit you with the bait and switch. Adorama is NOT that kind of company. (No, I'm not affiliated with them in any way, other than being a customer.)

I have looked for items on Adorama's website before, and if that product was unavailable, it was noted on the site. If you didn't see anything like that, I would assume they have what you ordered, and you will receive the product at the listed price.

There are still a few good companies on the web selling camera gear that really do take care of their customers. I would consider Adorama to be one of those companies, as well as B&H and a few others. I have never thought twice about placing an order with Adorama.

If you look at our camera dealer feedback forum, you will see that Adorama is one of the recommended sites.

I just placed an order with Adorama and a couple things on the web site said it was out of stock.
If you happen to see an ad on their site and you try ordering it, it will tell you if it's out of stock before placing your order.

As the others have said, based on my numerous personal experiences with them, you can get some rest this weekend. I've ordered a couple of items that I thought might have been misprints, but they always came on time, well wrapped, and in perfect condition.
