Olympus mju 790 SW

Can anyone please confirm what I suspect, that is, the Panorama mode on the 790 SW is only available if you have an Olympus xD card as opposed to a Fuji xD card. I bought a Fuji 2Gb xD (M) card as the memory site said that it was fully compatible with all Olympus cameras. Despite reading both the basic & advanced manuals from cover to cover several times I've been unable to access the Panorama mode :( I got a sort of hint from one of the sites that I've been trawling to find an answer, this said that the Panorama mode needed a genuine Olympus Xd card to be installed. I'm not too worried about the glitch & am prepared to buy a smaller Olympus Xd card for the odd occassion when I might want to take a panorama. (Such as Storms River bridge in the Tsitsikama forest in South Africa. We have friends out there & so enjoy cheapo hols there):mad2:

Yes, that's true. The panoramic modes on Olympus cameras will only work if you have an Olympus xD card. The card has something on it that's required for the panoramic modes to work. It's sort of annoying but I do like the panoramic modes on the Olympus cameras.
