    No View Finder??
I recently shopped for a new camera. I was stunned by how many cameras have no view finder other than the LCD display. For me, using an LCD display to frame a photo is awkward and much harder to do, especially in bright light. I passed up several very nice cameras because they had no view finder.

Am I missing something? Is there a technique for using the LCD display for a view finder that I haven't found?

Any insight will be appreciated, Jim

I don't understand why you would find it so difficult to frame an image. In bright sun, it may be harder to see, but that's the price you pay for a much smaller, cheaper camera. - Terry

The problem with an OVF on a small camera is that the majority of times, they stink. Keep working at it and you will get used to using the LCD.

I'm with you Hawkeye62. I will not buy a compact camera unless it has a view finder.
I just find it much easier to hold the camera steady when looking through the view finder.
