    New Photographer looking for advice
Hi everyone. I have just joined the forum as I have recently purchased a Canon EOS 550D. I bought a 10-55 mm, a 70-300 mm macro, a 10-24 mm wide angle and then after buying all that I then went back the next day and bought a canon 50 mm lense. The 18-25 is a Canon as is the 50. The other 2 lenses are Tamron.

I am very interested in not only taking holiday snaps etc but would really like to get into doing close up work with insects and other things but not sure really what lense to go for. Alternatively would I get away with just buying a x2 convertor for the macro lense I have already? Just wondered!!

I would suggest you look at extension tubes - not converters.

    Here's a great thread on why: http://forums.photographyreview.com/...ewpost&t=21833

Thank you for your reply. So which tube would I need with my 70-300 mm lense and what difference would that make? I am also considering a sigma 105 macro lens for close up work but not sure if it would be worth doing that or go for the tube instead??
