new to digital. compression Question????

Just got my first digital camera, canon a80. what compression level should I use? My choices are superfine, fine, normal. Does the compression effect the printed output? Thanks in advance for any help. p.s. I am using 2272 x 1704 resolution.

Compression does affect print quality, as it throws away info to make the images smaller. THat's not always a bad thing though. If you want to fit more images on a card and know they won't be printed large, or that the quality doesn't need to be that great, you can use higher compression and get more shots on a card. Then, if it's a really important shot, you can decrease the compression to get the highest quality. It's really up to you. Make some test prints to see where your personal quality threshhold falls, maybe you won't be able to see a difference in the work you do? You never know.
