Need a manual camera
I am looking to upgrade from my 5.2MP FUJI FINEPIX E510 to a different more advanced camera. I like the 7.2MP SONY DSC-W7 but i just found out that it is limited to manual controls, I also like the CANON POWERSHOT A620, but this camera looks a bit big. Does anyone know a camera with lots of manual controls, but not an SLR. The most important to me is manual focusing, and that you can change the lens. I am willing to spend up to around $450 CND before taxes. I want a more advacned camera, not just a point and shoot, and not an SLR. Anyone have any good suggestions?
Things i would like:
3:2 Aspect Ratio
Manual focusing
Adaptable lens'
Big LCD
A good Macro Mode
Panorama

Re: Need a manual camera
You can only change the lens on an SLR, but many compact cameras have lens adapters. Look at the Nikon Coolpix 8400; it does what you want although the LCD is fairly small by comparison.
I've been using the older version (CP5000) for a few years and still am very happy with it. I've got the wide angle and fisheye adapters but they also offer 2x and 3x telephoto adapters.

Re: Need a manual camera
The Canon G Series have tons of SLR advance features. Everything thing I know about my EOS film camera was all I needed to know about the my G2 features. The newer G series has even more. The newer version maybe out of your price range BUT the older version are terribly undervalued when sold used. On Ebay the G2 goes for under $200. The 5MP Canon G5 goes for a little over $300 US on Ebay. These are $600+ camera goes for nothing just because there is a new model out....more superior than new cameras between $200-$300 dollars.
And you can attach accessories to the lens.
