Need help deciding... Nikon D60 or a Canon Xs>>

I'm buying my first DSLR and i can't decide between the Nikon D60 and the yet to be released, Canon Xs. I read the specs and they seem comperable, as well as the price. I've heard good things about both cameras, but i can't decide.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

Canon XS comes out August 3rd, and I'm almost ready to commit to it ((though I've been looking at the XT and Nikon D60 as well)). It seems the XS will be pretty good. I really like having live view..I'm not positive, but does Nikon D60 have live view? I guess some lenses have trouble auto focusing on the D60.

I like the suggestion of holding each of them, and getting a feel for them. See which one "fits" better.

The D60 does not have live view. Aug 3rd is just around the corner, i can wait. I'll try to check the XS out next week and post my thoughts.

I always wonder why people don't look into other alternatives like Olympus and Sony, I mean, Nikon and Canon make great stuff - but so do their competition. They aren't the only ones worth looking into. Anyways - between the two mentioned I would certainly go with the XS....
