need help
I had a cannon a-70 for about two years when it broke for the third time.(got the dreaded e-18 message.) my warranty was up and they wanted too much to fix it. I need advice on buying a new camera. I dont want to throw away all the stuff i had puchased for the cannon (batteries, charger, 512mb of memory) im looking for a camera 4 megapixels or better that uses compact flash card for memory. Cannon is definitely out of the picture (never again) any ideas? Imput would by greatly appreciated. thanx in advance.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the A70. Canon is the most popular manufacturer on this site, so your experience goes against the grain. BUt there are lots of other options. I try to avoid giving camera recommendations, but I can point you to some sections of the site that can help. The Top 200 page will show you what cameras people are most interested in here. And if you go to the 4 megapixel reviews, you can sort the cameras by rating. That way you'll be able to see what cameras are actually working well for people. Here's a link to that page: http://www.pcphotoreview.com/pscCame...37_913crx.aspx
I will mention a couple of manufacturers that aren't considered so much but have been impressing me recently. Make sure to look at Casio and Panasonic. They're not traditional camera manufacturers, but they've been very innovative with their digital camera design. The cameras get good reviews and they're built well.
Hope that helps. Let us know if you have more questions.
