Need Help
Hey guys i am new here i am wanting to buy a camara but dont no what to get i am looking for one that takes good pitcures of sporting events i coach a girls softball team and we try and take pitcures of the girls when we are playing ball at the end of the year we make a movie cd for them to so all the all the games we played and add music to it
the only thing we use the small snap and shot and some of the pitcures are not that what would be a good camara for what i am trying to do.

How much money do you have to spend? And can you be specific about what type of photos you want to take? If you want to take real action photos then you might need to invest in a digital SLR. However, if you don't that kind of budget, good technique makes a big difference with any camera. Getting the camera is only part of the equation. Learning to use it correctly is actually more important. And that's especially true with sports photography.
So give us a little more information about the type of photos you want and what you're prepared to spend. Then we can start to narrow things down :)

thanks well as far as budget around $500 and as far as types of shots some far away
shots and some action shots runing swinging a bat thing like that and can i get a camara
that will do all that for that price i have been looking at all kinds but after reading the reviews just make me worrie about what to get

Actually, a good advanced dslr like, point and shoot will do fine for outdoor sports. It may be more of a challenge, but I've used my Panasonic at a softball game and tennis match, and got some very decent photos. It's got the 12X optical zoom for long range and will shoot 3 fps on burst mode. You need to learn how to pre focus for fast action shots, but that comes with experience. You can pick up nice ones for under $300.
