My Camera wont boot!??

hi everyone this is my first post in this forum and nice to meet you all. i have a Casio Exilim ex- z75 which i bought a long time ago. its like 4-5 months that i didn't even use it and now when i turned it on it wont even boot. i even charged the battery to full, but the light on the battery charger wont turn on green anymore. so i came to realized that either the charger is broken, or the battery itself. i threw the battery away already so now i only have these options:

1. bring it to geeksquad to let them fix it.
2. if i know exactly what i need to fix, just a buy another batter or a charger w/ battery.

what i wanna ask is, is the broken battery the only reason that a camera won't boot up? does any other component get effected after a long time not in use?
