Ok im new to this so stay with me... my 16 birthday is coming up and i would like to have a digital camera... theres the panisonic lumix black that is REALLY sweet but the rents say that it costs too much. So right now im having trouble choosing between cameras Im really wanting the Hp R707 thats really cool iv been to cnet.com and people say that its the greatest camera they ever had and some say in the middle, then theres nikon. heres what im looking for 5mp or higher... i want a camera with a viewble screen, i wanna be able to have nice professional looking photos aswell. Im also looking for a printer dock... now im having trouble again deciding between an acctual new photosmart printer or a printer dock. again its with HPs but this guy at circuit city the other night told me about this espon personally i dont like it because it doesnt have a color screen where i can view my photos before hand. i wanna be able to print and go not sit around and pook at buttons all day long. The fate of my descion is in your hands. Please help!

I guess a lot depends on what you plan on doing with your new digicam. Are you looking for a camera that you can grow with and become a better photog with? Are you looking for absolute simpicity: turn it on, point, shoot, print? What are you going to shoot with your new camera? Do you want small, ultracompact? Are you willing to carry something larger around?
I see the HP goes for around $300 give or take, I am guessing that in the budget neighborhood your Parents have set. I would decide on what you think you need, MP, size, manual modes or not, how much zoom, media type, etc. Then look throught the reviews on this site and sites such as DPreview.com and Digital Camera Resource Page. There is a lot of info there and this should help you narrow down your choices. With the world of digital photography changing as fast as it is, some better pricing can be found on new stock of cameras that have been rendered obsolete by new models being introduced.
