Minolta Dimage Z2 versus Olympus 765 Ultra Zoom
    Hey everyone,
I'm in the market for a new digital camera. I'm choosing between the Minolta Dimage versus the Olympus 765 Ultra Zoom. Which one do you recommend? I care about image quality, shooting performance, and it would be nice for it to be compact- small enough to fit inside cargo pant pockets.

    Thanks

There are lots of different Dimage cameras. Which are you looking at?

What type of photography will you be doing?

I'm looking at the Minolta Dimage Z2. Both the Olympus 765 and Minolta Dimage Z2 have a 10x zoom lens and 4 megapixels. I have heard excellent things about both cameras and they are both roughly in the same price range.

I've own a 4 megapixel camera before; the primary things I'm looking for in a new camera is zoom, image quality, and shooting performance. Secondary would be a relatively compact size- nothing too much of a burden to carry around

    thanks

    my thoughts
I have a ZI which has the exact...and I do mean exact...body as the ZI. The ZI has more of a SLR feel to the grip, of course it's nothing close to an SLR, but it's pretty comfortable to hold. The 10x zoom is decent. Don't expect it to be as awesome as a canon L series lense, but it does the job you'll need it for. Image qaulity on the Z1 is pretty good. It'll be better on Z2 considering the extra mp. It's not a camera that'll fit in a pocket...unless you have some strange odd shaped, huge pocket. ;) but it is a pretty good point-and-shoot. Thanks
