Hey all-

Been reading some on here, but can't find the perfect answer. I'm looking to buy a ultra-compact camera (wallet-sized) for social events. Don't need to shoot bugs up close or take architectural pictures. Just want it for when we head out downtown or for family engagements. I will not buy a Sony because I think their battery life is atrocious.

I've narrowed it down to the discontinued Casio EX-Z850 for around $200 or the Casio EX-Z1200 ($325). However, someone posted that the higher the MP, the more changes you'll get for blurry pics. Also, there are issues about the flash that I've read. I already have a good digital recorder so I won't use the camera much for that. Should I go for the more expensive one with higher MP and better picture quality or the discontinued model that everyone seems to love?

If anyone has any others I should consider, please let me know. I heard Fuji is good in dark situations but doesn't have image stabilizer. I don't mind spending a bit more since I don't turnover tech equipment as fast as most people (still have a computer from 1996 that's chugging along). If I'm going to spend $325, are there other cameras I should consider?

Thanks in advance.
