    Manual Flash for Dimage A2
Greetings, my first post. Recently purchased the A2 and plan to purchase a non-Minolta flash to save money. I'm considering Metz 45/60 and Sunpak 511, 611, 622. The Dimage has a non-standard hot shoe so I need something that mounts to a bracket and connects with a PC Sync cord. I'm assuming that all these flashes will connect with a PC Sync cord and work with the Dimage in manual mode. Would someone please clarify this is correct or fill me in.

I'm also interested in the difference between the Sunpak 511, 611 and 622. Is the 622 a later version of the 611? The guide number postings seems to vary depending on the country. I assume these are all powerful flashes and are useable up to 60' at 5.8 or so?

Thanks for bearing with me. I've been an amateur photographer all my life, but using cheaper digital for 6 years and never had to deal with flash. In the distant past I used hot-shoe flashes compatible with my Canon bodies.

I haven't used the A2 (or A1) with an external flash yet.
I only have a couple of Olympus units to try with.

I'm not up to date on current Sunpak flash units at all, last one I bought was 30 years ago.
