Which Lumix?

Hey guys,
I am looking to buy a new camera, the last one i bought was the sont T200... big mistake...useles piece of kit. I am under the impression that the panasonic lumix is a very good range of cameras so I would like to know which one you would recommend. It will be used for everyday shots and landscapes during holidays. Basically i need just a camera with a good feature set that take high quality pictures. What would you recommend?
Also I am looking to buy this camera for someone who just wants a point and shoot.
