Looking for a new Digital camera/camcorder
    Hi
    I'm a new person here:rolleyes:
I'm wanting to get a new digital camera or camcorder.
I want to be able to record decent quality videos and take high quality pictures.

I mainly take pictures and videos of the farm I live on. I also take videos and pics on trips I go on.
Is there any digital camera's out there for Under $250 that will take nice high res and good looking pictures. Also I would like to take good quality videos with the camera.
Also I'm not sure if I want to get an HD camera or not. I know HD videos take up a'lot more space than non HD but that's not a big problem with me considering I have 2x1TB hard drives for my photo's and videos.
Oh, would I be better getting a camcorder that can take pictures also or a digital camera that can take videos also. OR do I need to get a camera and get a camcorder separately.

Thanks for any advice and help:thumbsup:

Since most of us are photographers, you'll probably get more people saying buy a still camera. And the truth is, the video quality with current compact digital cameras is excellent. But only you know which is more important to you - video or still photos. I think the compromise is bigger with camcorders. They are still pretty limited as far as still image quality goes. But someone who's more interested in video might disagree or have different priorities.

For a real alternative, take a look at the Canon PowerShot TX1 hybrid camera. We just posted a detailed, expert review of it yesterday:

Maybe you can tell us a little more about your priorities so we can give you better advice. But the simple annswer to your question is - yes - you can get a camera for about $250 that will do good video and stills.
