Instant on Point and Shoot Camera ?
Hi there all, have a question to which I think that I already have the answer, but will ask anyway, just in case :-)
My wife has a Nikon Coolpix P5100. The only complaint she has is the slooooow start up time. Is anyone aware of a point and shoot camera that is almost as fast to boot up so to speak as a SLR camera ?
Re: Instant on Point and Shoot Camera ?
My research so far does seem to indicate that the Nikon Coolpix P5100 is indeed a bit sluggish and slow, but am having trouble finding a similar size camera that is faster.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone has any input or can point me in the right direction.
Thanks

If you're going to go so far as to say that, why not just tell us what you're thinking?
I have no idea. But I don't want to do any research if you already did that. Sorry.
Re: Instant on Point and Shoot Camera ?
Hi Loupey, when I said that I think that I already know the answer, what I meant is that I don't think that there is a point and shoot camera that comes close to a SLR camera when it comes to speed, like start up time and then shot to shot. This information seems dificult to find, at least for me, hence the question to this forum.
My wife would like a smaller and lighter camera than a SLR, but closer to the speed of a SLR camera.
Re: Instant on Point and Shoot Camera ?
It sounds like you should be looking at the Olympus line of small, lightweight dSLRs.
I don't know anything about their line so hopefully someone else can shed more light on those.
