Ok, this may not seem like that big of a deal to those of you who haven't used Olympus compacts. But they were seriously hamstrung by the xD Picture card memory cards. xD Picture Cards were hard to get, tiny (easy to lose and hard to handle) and they were really slow. It looks like they've finally abandoned those cards and I am very happy. I really like the Olympus Stylus and Stylus Tough / SW point-and-shoots. And now one of the reasons I had for having any mixed feelings is gone. Thank you, Olympus!

I actually almost just passed right over that bit of detail in the press release. Well, in the FE-Series camera announcement I posted before the Stylus announcement, I did miss it. I'm glad I noticed. It's a big deal.
