Digi Cam & Horses - Help!!

Hey!!
Im looking for a new 10mp compact digi cam to take photos for allsorts of casual shots but mainly of my horses show jumping in spain. I was thinking of the Pentax A30.

Can any point me in the right direction please??

Are you looking for a point-and-shoot camera or do you want more control? Are you going to be able to shoot close or from far away? Why 10-megapixels? Are you planning on making big prints? I think for most purposes, 7 or 8-megapixel cameras will do the job. You can easily make 11x14 prints from good 7-megapixel camera files.
