Nikon D50 or Canon Rebel XT

New here guys...I'm debating on which camera to buy, the Nikon D50 or Canon Rebel XT. If I were to pay the same for both, which would YOU buy and why?

Just to tell you our basic uses, if that helps....we've got six kids and other than just pics that are at home or outside and close up, I want to take pics of our two high schoolers playing football, baseball & basketball. You know, action type pics.

Any & all advice, info. is greatly appreciated!

XT, higher resolution with less noise.

How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.

Out of that choice, I agree with Sebastian: XT for the same reasons.

Actually the D50 has extremely low noise by Anyone's standards- with minimal noise in general, most of it luminance noise and grain-like rather than blotchy color noise. Extremely good.

The difference 6vs 8mp is almost nonexistent.

Go hold both and decide which one you're more comfortable with.
