    HDR on the Sony TX-10

I got a good image with the in camera HDR/Backlight correction on my Sony TX-10, so i thought I'd post it with an observation or two.

It really only looks good in true high dynamic range situations. If you use it indoors, it'll suck. If you use it when the face is far off, it'll suck.

I haven't tried it in scenes without a person, but the main problem I come across is that faces look washed out and orange. If you're a bro, this is probably a plus.

The HDR capture and render is fairly fast.

Anyone had any luck getting good images with the HDR on the TX-10?

I don't have anything with in-camera HDR, but it looks like it did a great job of pulling his face out of the shadow of the hat on a very bright day. - Terry

I can't remember if I messed with it in the TX5 but I did play with the Nikon version in one of their Coolpix cameras. Your experience sounds about like mine - usually it's pretty strange looking. Your photo here looks great.

That looks like a great job of HDR.

I had the TX10 for some time but I couldn't stand the touch interface. Damn fine looking camera that produces some great images, but the interface just wasn't for me. I don't remember any HDR options.

Does it take multiple exposures or does it just do one for this?

It says that it takes 3 images, and it makes three fake clicking sounds.

The touch interface is not awesome. And it lags, and is slowish, and buggy sometimes. But whatchagonnadoo. Best part is that it can fall out of my pocket when I'm riding and not be ruined.

will it also save the 3 exposure images separately, so that you can merge them yourself with the software of your choice? Is there a way to set the exposure difference between the 3 images?
