Getting smoke out of a camera.
I am trying out a old Canon EOS 10D if I like it pay what I can afford or take person out to dinner. The person is a smoker, the box the camera came in (original) horrible smoke smell. Camera has a bit of it. Is there anything I can do besides let it sit out?
There is no lense on it right now. Is it dangous to leave the safty cover off to the prizim?
Re: Getting smoke out of a camera.
Yes it is dangerous to leave the cover off. I would think the camera would be fine internally if it always had a lens or body cap on. If not it might need a sensor cleaning or more.
Re: Getting smoke out of a camera.
Thanks, I will leave it on and hope it can just air out in the basement. I cannot have it in a living active areas due to allergies.
It will have a dew more days. Memory card should be in this week and battery next week. I wanted to get the BP-511 but I guess that is discontinued for got a BP-511a made by Canon. I only buy OEM batteries.
