    Fixing a digital camera
Is it expensive to fix digital cameras...I would need the lens fixed, could they do that & would it be expensive? If someone could help that'd be great.

What camera/lens? What needs fixed? More info would help. If it's a scratched lens there are places who can grind them and repair them. If it's something else the manufactuerer can normally repair it....for a price of course if it's out of warranty or non warranty repair.

I had a 1D repaired (AF) and it cost $248 pluse $30 shipping.

Ok...well thanks. The lens is like stuck in the same position and it won't retract or anything...its just stuck.

The camera John is talking about is a $4000+ camera. I assume you're talking about a point-and-shoot. They usually cost almost as much to fix as it would cost to buy a new one. If the lens is stuck the first thing to do is remove the batteries and replace them with a freshly charged set. Sometimes that will fix the problem. If that doesn't work, and the camera is a couple of years old, I'd try forcing the lens back in. You'll likely have to buy a new one anyway, so you might as well try giving it a shove. If it works you win. If not, you need a new one anyway.

    What camera is it, anyway?

Ha thanks you actually helped me more than anyone else. Its a sony cybershot camera. Well I'll try replacing the batteries and like you said if that don't work, what will it hurt to give it a shove? so thanks.
