Digital Quality
I am still fairly new to digital photography. I have just purchased a new camera to replace a 2 year old unit. some of the average specs on pictures taken on the old camera are:
>> size 1579 kb deminsions 2816 x 2120
and for the new camera:
>> size 2600kb deminsions 2592 x 1944
The cameras are the same brand and the new model replaced my older camera
From this info can someone tell me if I really got a better camera.

"Better" means a lot more than just the number of pixels. What brands/models are you comparing?
