Cheap Camera & Printer Combo Help - Noobie
I am researching some options for my business. I have 30 locations and need this "setup" for every location. I would prefer to keep each combo under $250 if possible.
I need to buy a camera and printer combo. I thought that a Kodak Easyshare ($100) and a printer like the HP Photosmart A626 ($129) would do the job that I need.
I need a camera that can take a picture and print directly to a printer using a USB cable (without a computer). I do not want to have to take a card out of the camera each time to print from the printer.
It will be used in a doctor type office where you have to keep a picture on file of each person that walks in the door. The picture can be printed on regular white paper, but it needs to print onto the paper about the size of a polaroid picture. We are using polaroid cameras still!!!
I tried to "test" it in one location but the manager ended up with a different printer and is telling me that she has to take out the memory card in order to print a picture to the dimensions she needs. If she tries to print it using the USB cable, the camera has a "set" size that it prints and she cant change it. Printing it directly from the printer allows you to change those settings.
Please let me know if a Kodak Easyshare camera and a kodak photosmart printer can accomplish what I need. If not, can you give me another starting point?
Thanks for the help.
Re: Cheap Camera & Printer Combo Help - Noobie
You have an interesting request. I honestly don't know the answer. But my guess is that any time you print directly from the camera you will have size limitations. I have yet to see a camera that will let you set a completely custom print size. I don't think printers will do that, either. For that, you need to open the image file in Photoshop or some other software and resize it to your specific size. What size is it you want, anyway? Is there some reason you can't use a standard size?
