    Canon SD940 or Canon SD1400
I can't decide. I know nothing about cameras so I'd appreciate if you guys can help me choose which is better. Thanks!

The SD1400 (Ixus 130) is a direct successor of the SD940 (Ixus 120).
Both cameras share the same basic features. The SD1400 is newer though,
and has some new cool stuff - like the fisheye and miniature effects, and a newer generation of face detections.
Moreover, the SD1400 is currently selling for $149, which is less than what the SD940 is going for.

Oh thanks. Yeah, that bugs me also. SD1400 is newer and has more features but how come it's cheaper?

It's not the first time that a newer camera is cheaper than its predecessor.
Such was the case with Panasonic's TZ5 and TZ7, and then with the TZ7 and TZ10.
The SD1400 is a successful model and is on a wildly reduced price for the holidays.
