    canon s500 vs. sony dsc-T1..help!!!
i am trying to decide between these two cameras... my main concern is photo quality. does anyone here actually own these cameras? I have read that the Sony has a real problem with red-eye--is it really that bad? and i've also read that with both cameras, pictures are blurry unless you stay perfectly still.
Also, if this helps...i have the canon S400 and am perfectly satisfied with it--would i be satisfied with the Sony dsc-t1?

i have been reading so many mixed reviews, i can't decide!!

May I ask what these two cameras do that your existing S400 does not? I really don't see a lot of difference that would help you make a decision.

Ah! That makes a difference! Looking at the tests on DCRP, I am totally unimpressed with the Sony. It appears to have too many limitations and "video look" images. Plus, it uses those overpriced memory sticks in two flavors.

The Canon S500 comes from a long line of fine high-quality cameras. Personally, I have owned the S100 and now the S400. Both are excellent. I just don't think that the Sony measures up. You might find an excellent price on leftover S400s, a camera you know and like.
