casio ex-z60 noobie problem

I turn to the experts for help:
I bought a casio ex-z60 (used...i know i know). the lcd looks/functions well, the movie function works and function and playsback well, butwhen I take a picture, the image comes in blurry, bright, and fuzzy lines across the screen. it is not just the lcd, the pictures are stored this way. here's my question : is this a hardware problem, or my problem? what would you suggest I do to fix this problem...please!!!

Can you post a sample? Was it always like this? Did you drop it or anything? Sure sounds like it's broken to me.
