Can not get focus adjustment Sony H50
Happy New Year.
Please help if you can. I have been using this DSC H 50 for a while and am still learning. (slowly)
The focus adjustment has been showing in the past but now I cannot seem to get it back.
Here is a shot of the screen from Disk manual.
The blue rectangle is in the manual I have added the red rectangle to indicate where the focus selection has been, but is gone.
I've been pushing all the buttons and turning the wheel but cannot solve this puzzle.
Thank you for help. I have been given a one day course for Jan 29.
Hope I can get this solved before going to the class.

Re: Can not get focus adjustment Sony H50
I don't know the camera, but looking through the Cyber-shotŪ Handbook:
- The Focus Method can only be changed in the P, S, A, M or Film modes.
- When you use Digital Zoom or AF Illuminator, the AF Range Finder is dissabled...
- You can change the Focus Method only when Face Detection is set to OFF.
- You can only select Multi AF or Manual Focus when shooting movies.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I did not find that "face detection" would prevent focus adjustment.
That solved my confusion. (For the moment :D)

Glad OldClicker was able to help you sort that out. He's good at helping people :)
As a general rule, anytime you are missing a control in your digital camera, look at the shooting mode you're in. Most likely, you're using an auto mode that disables some features or controls. I didn't used to be a fam of face detection. But more and more I find myself using it with point-and-shoot cameras. With most cameras it uses continuous auto focus and changes the exposure so it's optimized for faces and skin tones. I am impressed with how good and useful it's become.
