Can any cameras do this??
I'm looking for a camera that will allow me to name or rename the pictures on the camera before transfering it to the PC.
I normally wind up with tons of pictures to pull off named like 10_0072341.jpg
I have to pull them off the PC, then go through and view + name them from there.
If there was a camera that lets you name the pictures on the camera, then I could rag them into corresponding folders immediatly and get away from the computer as fast as possible.
Can anyone recommend anything to me. Price really isnt an issue unless it's something insane, I don't mind speanding money on a good one.
Re: Can any cameras do this??
most cameras you can name them before you transfer them completely to the pc, you can find the options in the software with the camera to change the naming of the photos
Re: Can any cameras do this??
I mean as far as - is there any camera on the market where I can take a picture, then punch or dial in a name for the picture, then take another picture, etc.
Then later when I go to hook it up to a computer, just drag the already named files to their appropriate places.
This is for real estate work, where there may be 100 pictures taken in a day. Are there any cameras with maybe a keypad or a stylus for typing in a name?
Thanks

I'm not aware of such a camera.. Though, programs such as AcDsee make it really easy to organize and rename files in batches. Much much faster than renaming files individually. You can also tag and search photos by key words and such.

I'm not aware of a camera that will do image renaming like that.
It's a really inefficient way to do it though.
Back at home on your computer you have a keyboard which is really efficient.
On the camera you would have to mess about with up/down buttons to change letter, and left/right to move through the name. Horribly slow !
I would suggest a notebook, you write in it the image number, and the name you want it to have when you get home. Low tech, but it'll be quicker in the end.
I don't rename the files, but use Lightroom to add any information I need into the data in the Lightroom database. The less messing about I have to do with the files, the better for me.
I can think of something gimmicky, but close - the Pentax Optio T30

On this camera you can draw in the pictures with your finger !
Or even on a blank screen .. so you could scribble a title before you shoot at a location.
