I been doing some research for a camera. I looked at the kodak easy share m1093 and the canon powershot sd780. To my surprise the m1093 had better picture and have the rare optical zoom in movie mode BUT power on and take a shot in an average of 4.13 seconds, which is in the acceptable range. And after snapping off three more shots, the camera averaged just 1.49 seconds between each, but after these three shots filled the camera's buffer, the M1093 came to a halt. The next few shots averaged a long 8.98 seconds, so this isn't the camera to get if you're looking to capture fast action. Shutter lag contributed to the M1093's slow performance. Using Shooting Digital's shutter lag test, the M1093 averaged a considerable .89 seconds of lag. That is pretty frustrating speeds and i would like to be able to capture fast action.

also I like the sd780 for the hdmi outlet to hdtv.

I am planning to buy a used older camera for under $150. Can anyone suggest a camera w/ optical zoom in 720p video recording and fast speed preferably w/ hdmi?
