camera problem

I got my Casio EOS 5D two weeks ago.When I want to copy the picture in the SD card and use the USB cable connecting the computer, my screen will turn black. Moreover, it will reboot later. I don't know what's the problem.
Did you have the same experience?

uhm, you sure its an EOS 5D? 5D doesn't use SD, and its not a Casio either. Have you checked your USB Host controller in the device manager, do that and see if there are any problems, also, make sure you set your camera to host usb as a mass storage device, or make sure what it sets as default. Without knowing wether its actually an EOS 5D or a Casio point and shoot, I don't think I can be much more help. My best suggestion for you: next time, get a mac ;).

Agreed. Which are you talking about here? If it's an EOS 5D, it uses a compact flash card, IIRC. If you are using an SD card, there's a much more affordable option than a high priced MAC.

You can easily buy a USB card reader for about $20-25 that will will cause your sd card to be read as a drive on the PC (or Mac). Then it's a simple drag and drop. It's much easier than trying to sort out crappy drivers and bloated sofware.

As for your camera, try resetting it. Your firmware may have corrupted. This is a fairly easy procedure which involves either going into your setup menu and choosing "reset" (or intialize), holding down the menu key for 5 seconds, or, removing the batteries for a few minutes. It may be that the firmware loading got corrupted and the camera just needs to be "rebooted," which is something that turning it on/off won't accomplish. But after which, you should have the camera reset to factory default settings.

Then, go to the Canon or Casio website, which ever it is, and download the latest firmware update.
