Ok Gang
I'm sure everyone has there favorite method or type of lens cleaner and such they like to use. What would you recommend to a rising photographer to spend there money on or to stay away from. I dont mind paying for something the first time but if i have to pay a second time I'm unhappy.

1 Rocket Air to blow off any loose dust.

2. Zeiss lens cleaning solution and paper.

Some people like microfiber cloth. Personally I don't use microfiber on my lenses as microfiber will collect and hold onto dirt. Papers are use once and thrown away. A good Type 1 Class 5 wet clean lens paper.

so your suggesting just buying the premoistened packs of tissue. I am considering this strongly . Just not sure if i want to be continously ordering them . I tend to be anal when it comes to lenses. I may need to buy stock in a company

I have purchased a couple of lenses that came with free cleaning kits,

the cleaning solution and small tissue sheets work ok

when I do not have that at hand sometimes I use a microfiber , which I only use for the lenses

the only problematic situation is when I got salt water spray, that seems to cling to the lens surface more than say finger prints

I've always used a bit of hot breath and a microfiber cloth. Granted, that was just working with tiny Zi8's and Sony P&S's, but it seemed to work well.

True Ti.
But the original question was about lens cleaning.

I prefer pec-pad and eclipse cleaning solution.
Hard to do abroad because of the restriction on flammable substances in airplane luggage!
I still carry a packet of pec-pads with me.
And if possible find a local camera shop to get a bottle of eclipse on each trip.

I use a microfiber cloth and specsaver glasses fluid, which I use on my glasses. However not the same cloth :-)

for the lens & sensor Rocket Blower to get rid of dust and an Arctic Butterfly for the sensor. Never needed wet stuff for the sensor yet.

Rocket air sounds interesting, I've never heard of that.

There are many types of microfibre cloths - I am talking about the ones used for spectacle lenses which are not the fluffy ones so they don't hold grit.

Not meant to be a B&H ad as they can be bought many places. B&H is fine to get one though.
They are great for remoiving loose dust.
