Which Camera is Best in my Price Range?

I am new in this forum. I am thinking of buying a digital camera. My price Range is about $650. Please suggest me the best camera within this range. I am not professional, just casual photo loving person. I need more MP and Zoom Power with clear, crispy images. I have an eye on Canon's EOS Rebel XSi (EOS 450D) and Sony Alpha DSLR-A350K Digital SLR A camera. Which one is better of the two or if some other camera is better then these two please suggest it to me. I live in New York. Please also suggest a good place to buy.

First off there is no "best" camera. A lot depends on personal preference.
The two you mention are good camera from what I've read but you must remember that they are dslr cameras and you'll never get their full potential unless you are willing to learn how to use their features and not just shoot auto all the time.
What kind of photographs do you take?
Are you willing to spend money on additional lenses, tripods, etc.?
You'll get better answers to your question if you can give this information.
Have you considered non-dslr cameras?

I would love to learn more and more for getting most out of camera. I need camera which can work good for indoor or low light photos. earlier i was considering Sony's T300 but i am not sure about it low light performance. If i buy Canon's EOS Rebel XSi body only ( which is about $570+tax, then which lens should i buy ( under $100). if you know some point and shoot camera ( which is compact like Sony T300 ) and can work fine under low light the advise me.
