C50-50 question
Olympus c5050 Zoom
I'm trying to set the shutter at 16 seconds. According to a leaflet I have that can be done but I can't seem to find it in the manual or figure it out myself...The max I get is 4 sec
Any help?

Yes it can be done :)
Ok just to let you know there is a big manual out there that has 268 pages of instructions and it is on the cd. when you put it in its called reference most people do not know about this. olympus doesnt print them out becuase of cost im guessing. you can buy one for 10 dollers or print it out your self. Now cause im nice :) here is a link to download the manuals.

Ok now to set the shutter speed. what you want to do is on the mode dial there is A, S and M.
A stand for Aperture priority shooting
Allows you to set the aperture manually. The camera sets the shutter speed
automatically. By decreasing the aperture value (F-number), the camera will
focus within a smaller range, producing a picture with a blurred background.
Increasing the value forces the camera to focus over a wider range in the
forward and backward directions, resulting in a picture in which both the
subject and the background are in focus.
S stand for Shutter priority shooting
Allows you to set the shutter speed manually. The camera sets the aperture
automatically. Set the shutter speed according to the subject and the type of
effect you want.
M stands for Manual shooting (this is what we want)
Allows you to set the aperture and shutter speed manually. To check the
exposure, refer to the exposure differential. This mode gives you more
creative control, allowing you to make the settings you need to get the type of
picture you want, regardless of optimum exposure.
Well the s one sounds right but you can only get it to 4 seconds. to get it to 16 you will want to put it on the M mode. then turn the dial under the on and off dial. keep turning to left till you see the 1/1000 change to 16. and your done that is 16 sec shutter speed :)
I hope this helps you. let me know if you need more help :)
thanks olympus guy
